The Sau’s valley and Tavertet’s cliffs
The spectacular cliff of Tavertet, almost two hundred meters high and about 20 kilometers long, separates the Guilleries massif from Collsacabra. The route starts at the Sau reservoir to reach the beautiful town of Tavertet, climbing the spectacular limestone cliffs that rise above the Sau valley. The ascent, progressive, but well done, passes through a typical Mediterranean forest dominated by the oak grove, with plants adapted to the conditions of the Mediterranean climate. Once on top of the cliff the views are spectacular.
The cliff is a spectacular and unique outcrop due to its dimensions of the geological past of the Osona region.
